Ministry of Magic

Level One:

Minister for Magic and Support Staff. This is the home of the administrative staff of the Ministry. The inner workings of the Ministry is conducted here. Only those with explicit permission can be on this floor.

Level Two:

Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Auror Headquarters, Hitwizard Headquarters; Law Enforcement Officers Headquarters; Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office, Wizengamot Administration Services, and Improper Use of Magic office.

Level Three:

Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes. Accidental Magic Reversal Squad; Obliviator Headquarters; Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee

Level Four:

Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Beast, Being, and Spirit Divisions; Goblin Liaison Office; Pest Advisory Board

Level Five:

Department of International Magical Cooperation. International Confederation of Wizards, British Seats; International Magical Office of Law; International Magical Trading Standards Body; Hall of Records; Library of Magic.

Level Six:

Level Seven:

Department of Magical Games and Sports. British and Irish Quidditch League Headquarters; Official Gobstones Club; Ludicrous Patents Office

The Atrium:

Atrium. This is the main lobby for the Ministry of Magic. There are very high ceilings and gilded fireplaces. Fireplaces to the left are for arrivals, to the right are for departures. Watchwizards are on duty here, so don't try any funny business. You will need to check your wand in and other details at the entrance desk. Thank you and have a pleasant stay.

Level Nine:

Department of Mysteries. Only those with permission can gain access here. It is all very top secret you see

Level Ten:

The Courtrooms. These dungeon-like corridors house all the courtrooms that are used for trials. The infamous courtroom 10 is located at the very end. There are also holding cells down here too for the criminals.

Main Rules

Welcome to the Rules! Here is what you need to know on the site.

Remember that one game day = one real life day. So, if it is July 25, 2008 in real life, the game day will be September 25, 1981.

1) Please make sure to read through all the rules and information. It will help with playing on the site. Also, make sure to read up on announcements, plots and paper posts. We are going to have an over-reaching plot that will affect characters and we really want characters involved. This is not all the game is about though, we are character driven too. If you have any ideas, please tell me!

2) Be respectful and do not bring in OOC drama. We want to have a good time here. We do not allow flaming, bashing or anything offensive to another person. If you are having a serious problem, talk to me and the mods will deal with it.

3) Keep things appropriate. We want to allow creativity and freedom, so mark posts that are going to have mature material. However, keep in mind that you need to be 18 and over to participate in explicit material. If you want to do a post containing that, post on your own character journal and then lock it. Also, any character under the age of 18 will not be participating in "adult" threads - so nothing beyond kissing - sorry kiddies! LJ has strict rules about this. Also, sex just for sex is not welcome here, there needs to be a story for it to further develop the game.

4) If you sign up PLEASE roleplay. We want the site to live and we need players for that! Try and post at least once a week. If you need to take a break for whatever reason please post in the OOC community. We will miss you!

5) Do not spam.

6) Promote us. It makes us totally smile!

7) Do not take anything from this site. We have worked really hard. Thank you!

8) You are allowed to have up to six characters. Sign up with some variation of your characters name, please. Just make sure to have your characters name in the username. If you think you can handle more than that, please talk to me and we shall see!

9) When you post have at least 2-3 paragraphs. No one-liners are allowed since it is too hard to post off that. We want plots to flow but we want to remain literate too! We do not want to have a set limit because we want to allow everyone to post at their own pace and have fun.

10) Roleplaying Point of view is third person past tense. Journal entires are first person.

11) No mary-sues or drama queens. Make your characters well-rounded, please.

12) Drama is really fun but if you want to do something major please talk to me first. This can include - marriages, pregnancies, deaths, disorders and so on.

13) Most of all -- have FUN. We want to really get down and get back to the joy and wonderfulness that is roleplaying. Want that too? Then join us!

Special Notes: We do allow slash here along with het relationships. So, please keep that in mind too!

Posting Guide

Here is how to post on the RPG community --

Plot

Welcome! Here is the main plot.

“Are you absolutely certain this is a good idea?”
“For the very last time - yes! Now, hush up and do what I tell you.”
“Very well, but do not say I didn’t warn you!”

The ‘Classified X’ project was supposed to help change the world but it may very well become what destroys it. For years, the Ministry Unspeakables have worked to be able to bend and warp time, space and nature as a whole. What they didn’t anticipate was that Mother Nature would fight back and in ways, no one will ever calculate. The first phase is complete, the slamming together of different time eras into one. It is believed this is the end of the meddling but this is not so. It is only the beginning and the things to come will really change everything around. It also doesn’t help that the Unspeakables are not ceasing their experiments. Oh no, they believe they only need to tweak them and everything will work out correctly. Will the Unspeakables find the answer before it is too late, or will they mess things beyond any sort of repair?

The tides of the future are rippling in various directions but some are using this for their own personal gain and influence. Lord Voldemort is one that is taking the advantage, yes, his old plans are gone since the Potters are still alive but he has bigger ambitions now. Who cares about one tiny prophecy when the very foundation of the world around them is crumbling? There has to be a way for him to gain the upper hand and be able to control what no one else can. Nevertheless, he will have opposition in the form of the Order of the Phoenix, led by formidable Albus Dumbledore, the man who knows much more than he is letting on. But, really is that a shock for anyone? Even the Ministry of Magic is causing difficult issues. They are trying to put everyone under their thumb, believing this will save everyone in the end. Laws are coming out left and right but who knows how they will work out. Will they end up doing more harm than good? Either way, the Minister knows what happens in the future and is determined to steer the magical community away from that kind of war and pain. For now, Voldemort and the Death Eaters do not have the key to the future reconciliations but for how long will that last?

Is history destined to repeat itself or is there a new, story happening? Regardless of that, life goes on and the people have to move along with it. Just be advised to watch your back because you never know who is looking after you. When things are bleak and uncertain, it helps to remember to start -- Begging Mercy -- Can Anyone Hear You?
